Septic Services

Your Solution for Reliable Septic System Maintenance

A well-maintained septic system is essential for a healthy home and our environment. At Zoom Drain®, we provide professional maintenance services through Zoom Septic™ to keep your septic system functioning properly.

Depending on the type of septic system you have and where you live, regulations often require inspection by a qualified Septic Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Technician every 1 to 3 years. A regular inspection by Zoom Septic™ not only meets these regulatory requirements, but ensures your septic system runs optimally saving you both time and money.

Note: Septic services are not available at all Zoom Drain locations. Contact your local Zoom Drain to check availability.

Why Regular Septic Maintenance Matters

Septic tanks collect and store waste from your home, gradually filling with solid materials over time. A well-maintained septic system can operate for many years without pumping. Many providers recommend a regular pumping interval, typically 3-5 years depending on the size of the tank and number of members in the home. While a scheduled pumping interval works most of the time, it doesn’t consider all the factors that determine the proper frequency of pumping. Our Zoom Septic™ Inspection program usus a multi-point inspection which evaluates your entire septic system including the measurement of solid materials in your tank. Only when those solids reach the threshold for your type of septic system do we recommend pumping. This potentially saves you money by not over-pumping while ensuring that your system will not fail due to under-pumping. This is good for the environment, provides peace of mind, and ensures that your septic system lasts for decades to come.

Regular maintenance provides the following benefits:

· Prevent Costly Repairs: Routine maintenance prevents clogs and overflow, saving you from expensive repairs down the line.

· Ensures Correct Pumping Interval: The effectiveness of your septic system is determined by usage, size, and chemicals (detergents, cleaners, and medications) being added to the tank through normal usage. With regular inspection, we recommend pumping based on your lifestyle and needs.

· Regulatory Compliance: Many counties require regular inspection. Our Zoom Septic™ Maintenance program ensures that your property stays compliant with local regulations.

· Avoid Odor Issues: Regular septic maintenance ensures your system is running at its optimal capacity, helping to ensure that nobody knows it is there and working.

· Environment: Overfilled septic tanks can leak into the environment without getting filtered through the drain field. This could introduce sewage in surface water, making its way into local streams, rivers, and lakes.

· Peace of Mind: Regular inspection and maintenance gives you peace of mind that your system will be running when you need it. If a component fails between inspections, we will be there 7 days a week with a knowledge of your system to get you up and running again quickly.

· Trained Technicians: All our qualified technicians are trained through the Washington On-Site Sewage Association (WOSSA), which is a member organization of the National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association (NOWRA).

· Property Value: We record each inspection and pumping with the local county. A regularly maintained system shows future buyers that you care about your property.

Property Sale Inspection

When it comes time to sell your property, Zoom Septic has you covered as well. Our fully trained technicians can perform a Report of System Status (RSS) of your septic system in approved counties when selling your property.

Our FAQs

  • To prevent clogs, avoid putting the following down your kitchen sink:

    • Grease, oil, or fat (FOG).
    • Coffee grounds.
    • Eggshells or food scraps.
    • Fibrous vegetables (like celery or corn husks).
    • Pasta, rice, or other starchy foods.
    • Regularly clean drains using a natural drain cleaner like baking soda and vinegar.
    • Install drain screens or traps to catch hair and debris.
    • Avoid flushing non-biodegradable items down the toilet.
    • Be mindful of what you pour down the kitchen sink (e.g., no grease or oils).
    • Have professional inspections performed periodically.
  • A cleanout is a pipe fitting that provides easy access for drain cleaning. If your plumbing system doesn't already have one, Zoom Drain can install a cleanout, which can save you time and money when clearing future blockages.

  • Sewer lining is a trenchless method of repairing damaged pipes by inserting a liner into the existing pipe. The liner hardens into a new pipe, sealing any cracks or leaks. It’s less invasive and often more cost-effective than traditional sewer replacement.

  • Signs that your sewer line may need repair or replacement include:

    • Persistent slow drains or backups.
    • Unpleasant odors coming from your drains.
    • Wet spots or patches of lush greenery in your yard (indicating leaks).
    • Gurgling sounds in your toilet or sinks. Zoom Drain provides comprehensive sewer repair, lining, and replacement services.
  • A malfunctioning sewage pump may show signs like:

    • Sewage backup or slow draining.
    • Foul odors or gurgling noises.
    • Inconsistent or no pump operation. Regular inspections and maintenance can prevent costly failures.
  • Signs of sump pump issues include:

    • Water pooling around the sump pump area.
    • Strange noises when the pump operates.
    • Pump not turning on or off properly.
    • Water not being pumped out effectively. Zoom Drain can inspect and provide repair or replacement services.
  • Jetting from the roof vent involves sending high-pressure water through your drain lines starting from the roof vent, which clears out blockages from the top of the pipes. This technique can reach clogs that are deep within the system, particularly for stubborn, hard-to-reach blockages.

  • Hydrojetting is a technique where high-pressure water is used to clean drains. It’s especially effective for removing grease, debris, and tree roots. This method is ideal for tougher clogs that can't be easily cleared with standard tools.

  • Zoom Drain uses advanced tools like:

    • Hydrojetting machines for powerful, high-pressure water cleaning.
    • Sewer cameras to inspect and locate blockages deep within your pipes.
    • Locators to precisely find and identify issues underground or behind walls.
    • Traditional augers for mechanical drain clearing when necessary.
