Meet the Owners of Zoom Drain Washington

Professional drain and sewer services in the State of Washington

Zoom Drain Washington provides unparalleled drain and sewer solutions with a focus on speed, precision, and lasting results. Owned and operated by Gordon Bock, who has a rich career history starting as a Nuclear Power Plant operator and Rescue Swimmer in the US Navy. Gordon went on to earn Computer Science and MBA degrees from the University of Washington, spending most of his career designing and building complex IT systems used in healthcare. He spent the last 10 years at Microsoft where he solved crucial IT security issues for hardware (Surface/Xbox) and later was instrumental in building the global cryptographic governance program for Windows.

Gordon is also very active in the community, bringing his understanding of complex system problem solving to the social arena. With a passion for empowering the next generation, he is active on two state commissions and two city commissions focused on family and youth. He also sits on the board of Northwest Nuclear Laboratories, a non-profit educating youth in highly advanced STEM technologies. Gordon also regularly attends church.

In 2023 Gordon had an opportunity to consider how he can best bring together his career expertise as well as addressing the emerging needs of the community. Feeling that business ownership is the best vehicle to achieve that, he reached out to a franchise broker to discover franchising. Ironically, out of a dozen franchise candidates Zoom Drain was the first franchise he discarded. After deeply analyzing a few other franchises and not finding a good match, it was suggested that he reconsider Zoom Drain. Since then, he acquired six Zoom Drain territories in western Washington with the possibility of expanding to Vancouver and Spokane, WA.

Gordon partnered with Zoom Drain to create Zoom Drain Washington because of a shared vision that we are more than a service provider; we are an integral part of the community solving crucial problems. These problems exist not only for our customers who seek our unparalleled expertise, but also for our employees who need an employer that cares about their personal growth, and for our community who needs seasoned leaders that can foster the greater good.  At Zoom Drain Washington we are setting new standards in the drain and sewer industry, ensuring that our region remains one of the most desirable places to live through superior services and a place to grow families.

Our FAQs

  • To prevent clogs, avoid putting the following down your kitchen sink:

    • Grease, oil, or fat (FOG).
    • Coffee grounds.
    • Eggshells or food scraps.
    • Fibrous vegetables (like celery or corn husks).
    • Pasta, rice, or other starchy foods.
    • Regularly clean drains using a natural drain cleaner like baking soda and vinegar.
    • Install drain screens or traps to catch hair and debris.
    • Avoid flushing non-biodegradable items down the toilet.
    • Be mindful of what you pour down the kitchen sink (e.g., no grease or oils).
    • Have professional inspections performed periodically.
  • A cleanout is a pipe fitting that provides easy access for drain cleaning. If your plumbing system doesn't already have one, Zoom Drain can install a cleanout, which can save you time and money when clearing future blockages.

  • Sewer lining is a trenchless method of repairing damaged pipes by inserting a liner into the existing pipe. The liner hardens into a new pipe, sealing any cracks or leaks. It’s less invasive and often more cost-effective than traditional sewer replacement.

  • Signs that your sewer line may need repair or replacement include:

    • Persistent slow drains or backups.
    • Unpleasant odors coming from your drains.
    • Wet spots or patches of lush greenery in your yard (indicating leaks).
    • Gurgling sounds in your toilet or sinks. Zoom Drain provides comprehensive sewer repair, lining, and replacement services.
  • A malfunctioning sewage pump may show signs like:

    • Sewage backup or slow draining.
    • Foul odors or gurgling noises.
    • Inconsistent or no pump operation. Regular inspections and maintenance can prevent costly failures.
  • Signs of sump pump issues include:

    • Water pooling around the sump pump area.
    • Strange noises when the pump operates.
    • Pump not turning on or off properly.
    • Water not being pumped out effectively. Zoom Drain can inspect and provide repair or replacement services.
  • Jetting from the roof vent involves sending high-pressure water through your drain lines starting from the roof vent, which clears out blockages from the top of the pipes. This technique can reach clogs that are deep within the system, particularly for stubborn, hard-to-reach blockages.

  • Hydrojetting is a technique where high-pressure water is used to clean drains. It’s especially effective for removing grease, debris, and tree roots. This method is ideal for tougher clogs that can't be easily cleared with standard tools.

  • Zoom Drain uses advanced tools like:

    • Hydrojetting machines for powerful, high-pressure water cleaning.
    • Sewer cameras to inspect and locate blockages deep within your pipes.
    • Locators to precisely find and identify issues underground or behind walls.
    • Traditional augers for mechanical drain clearing when necessary.
