Meet The Owner of Zoom Drain of Galveston
Oleander City Local provides expert drain and sewer services on the Gulf
Zoom Drain of Galveston owner/operator Thomas Gallagher is Texas-born and bred. He grew up in the Galveston area, graduating from Texas City High School, where he played football. Thomas attended the University of Houston, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration with a degree in accounting, before settling in the Alvin area.
Thomas spent 28 years working for a Fortune 1000 company in various stages of product development. He has experience managing budgets and finding cost-effective solutions, as well as growing and leading teams around the world.
Thomas was drawn to Zoom Drain after his own first-hand experience with the difficulties of finding plumbers to clean the drains of his rental homes — he owns and manages eight single-family rentals. One of the biggest advantages of Zoom Drain for Thomas is the brand’s recession resistance, but he was also excited about the Zoom Drain team and its family-like environment. “The team is a great, knowledgeable group who doesn't leave out the tough parts,” he says.
“The fact is that there will always be a need for drain and sewer services, no matter the circumstances of the world,” says Thomas. “I love this industry. It’s also great to go home each day and know you helped someone out.”
“My career has given me a great background to understand that the keys to success are people and relationships,” says Thomas. “No one is successful by themselves. You need to get the right people, treat them with respect, and give them the knowledge and tools to be successful. If you can do this, other parts of the business will come together.”
Thomas loves being a part of the Texas Gulf Coast community. He is always enamored by the way the people of Galveston and beyond are able to come together during challenging times, including the aftermath of hurricanes and other storms. The diversity in the area, where all races and nationalities are welcomed, gives Thomas a great sense of pride. “I am excited to provide the good people of the Galveston area and beyond with reliable, high-quality drain and sewer services that will provide them with the help they need when they need it.”
When not working, Thomas enjoys investing in real estate, jogging – when the weather cooperates – and playing chess online.

Sewer lining is a trenchless method of repairing damaged pipes by inserting a liner into the existing pipe. The liner hardens into a new pipe, sealing any cracks or leaks. It’s less invasive and often more cost-effective than traditional sewer replacement.
-
Signs that your sewer line may need repair or replacement include:
- Persistent slow drains or backups.
- Unpleasant odors coming from your drains.
- Wet spots or patches of lush greenery in your yard (indicating leaks).
- Gurgling sounds in your toilet or sinks. Zoom Drain provides comprehensive sewer repair, lining, and replacement services.

A malfunctioning sewage pump may show signs like:
- Sewage backup or slow draining.
- Foul odors or gurgling noises.
- Inconsistent or no pump operation. Regular inspections and maintenance can prevent costly failures.
-
Signs of sump pump issues include:
- Water pooling around the sump pump area.
- Strange noises when the pump operates.
- Pump not turning on or off properly.

Jetting from the roof vent involves sending high-pressure water through your drain lines starting from the roof vent, which clears out blockages from the top of the pipes. This technique can reach clogs that are deep within the system, particularly for stubborn, hard-to-reach blockages.
-
Hydrojetting is a technique where high-pressure water is used to clean drains. It’s especially effective for removing grease, debris, and tree roots. This method is ideal for tougher clogs that can't be easily cleared with standard tools.
-
Zoom Drain uses advanced tools like:
- Hydrojetting machines for powerful, high-pressure water cleaning.
- Sewer cameras to inspect and locate blockages deep within your pipes.
- Locators to precisely find and identify issues underground or behind walls.
